Stop

Stop passing by. Stop looking away. Stop.

It is scary, yes. It is frightening to allow your self, your soul, your mind and heart, to realize what is more true than anything else you have ever contemplated: God IS. God is everything you would think a God should be, and far more. And a glimpse of God, just a glimpse, has this effect — you stumble back because of the profound realization that everything fits and everything is okay. You can’t take the why of that with you, after this realization eases. But you can take the truth of it. You can apply that truth. You can trust. You can know that all fits and all will be okay.

And we can live this way. Allowing our selves, our souls, our minds, our hearts to just get a glimpse, every now and then. Enough to recharge that knowing, that trusting.

How?

By stopping. By letting all the noise be just what it is, noise. Letting it pass away as that, not dipping your finger into it and certainly not wading in it. Noise like “it’s naive to believe in God;” or, “life sucks;” or, “those people are evil.” It’s a rushing train you don’t have to ride. Get off. Be where the image of God within your very self is calling you to BE. At one, with a Presence who knows all, understands all, sees all, IS all, so you don’t have to. We don’t have to.

Stop and BE in this place.

Reflection

Find within yourself the voice that cries for truth, for meaning, for love, for the realization that you matter far more than you know. Heed that voice.

Prayer

God, you are more than I allow you to be. May I find ways to connect with you, beginning within my very self. Your image is within me. Your voice is within me. Life is meant to be far more than I am living. May I hear you, Lord. May I heed what I hear. Amen.
